Crossroads Church of Denver

Life Recovery Group

We are  launching a Life Recovery Group on Friday, January 3rd, 2025
The Life Recovery Group at Crossroads is a biblically based program designed to help people overcome strongholds in their lives.  It is based on the Word of God and uses the Life Recovery Bible and the Life Recovery Workbook.  Our group is a safe place for people seeking support and freedom from the strongholds in their lives that may be affecting their walk with the Lord and/or their relationships with family and friends.    Our group is NOT a place for judgement, nor is it a substitute for personal counseling and/or therapy.  Gossip has no place in our recovery group, and everything spoken in our groups is confidential.
We have found  there is strength in numbers and that we need each other.  "Two are better than one because they have a good return for their labor;  for if [a]either of them falls, the one will lift up his companion.  But woe to the one who falls when there is not another to lift him up"  (Ecclesiastes 4:9-10)

We are a Christ-Centered Ministry that meets every Friday in an informal, relaxed environment where people can be comfortable discuss their struggles and open to finding solutions to the strongholds affecting their walk with the Lord.
What is a stronghold?  A stronghold may be an addiction to alcohol, drugs, gambling, or body image issues causing eating disorder, or anger issues, or unhealthy relationship issues, or insecurities and self-doubt.  Our goal is to find freedom from these strongholds and be restored to the life God has planned for us.  "For I know the plans that I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans for prosperity and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope" (Jeremiah 29:11-14)
We know what it is like to struggle, and we know how hard it can be to reach out for help.  Many of us can testify that facing the truth was the hardest thing we ever did, but was a necessary step toward breaking the chains of addiction, anger, hurt, shame, and guilt that were keeping us in bondage.

WHEN DO WE MEET?
We will meet in-person every Friday at 6:30pm starting on January 3rd 2025.  We look forward to meeting you and welcoming you into our recovery family.  Join us as we learn to do things differently and rely on our Lord and Savior.

Recovery Ministry Leaders:  Ralph & Marlene Gomez
Ralph & Marlene have been married for over 49 years, but it hasn't always been easy.  The first eleven years of their marriage were an addiction-filled merry-go-round, until they found help in a secular recovery program in 1986.  Life got better for them and so did their marriage as they learned to help others struggling with addictions.  But something was still missing from their lives.  It wasn't until 1997 when they found the missing piece was Jesus.  Today, after almost 40 years of sobriety, Ralph and Marlene continue to help others struggling in their marriages and with addictions, but now their tool is the Bible and their Savior is Jesus.
